An Act establishing the Blue Star Family license plate

This bill creates a free "Blue Star Family" license plate or emblem for immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, or siblings) of Massachusetts police officers killed in the line of duty. Eligible family members must provide proof that the officer's death meets the criteria for inclusion on the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C. The plate or emblem is issued for one private passenger vehicle or motorcycle owned and primarily used by the family member.
