An Act authorizing the town of Hingham to grant to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts certain parcels of land in the town of Hingham for highway purposes

This bill authorizes the town of Hingham to transfer specific land parcels currently managed by its select board to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for use as a highway. In exchange for this land, the town will receive an approximately 8-acre portion of another property to be managed by its conservation commission, along with cash compensation equal to at least 110 percent of the transferred land's fair market value. The funding from the compensation must be placed in a dedicated fund for land conservation within the town, while the state department agrees to cover all costs related to the legal and engineering work needed to complete the land transfers.
