An Act relative to the safe operation of motor vehicles

This bill (HD 2500) restricts certain distractions for drivers operating motor vehicles. It prohibits operators from recording or broadcasting their own images/video, using spatial computers (like AR/VR headsets), or viewing unrelated content (such as social media or videos) on in-vehicle displays, headsets, or other wearable devices. Specific exemptions are included for hands-free mode indicators, audio system controls, manufacturer-installed features, dispatch systems, and views of other vehicle occupants. The law aims to reduce driver distraction by banning the use of non-essential electronic devices while driving, applying directly to all motor vehicle operators.
