An Act relative to authorizing the conveyance of certain parcels of land in the city of Fall River

This bill authorizes the Massachusetts Department of Transportation to transfer 21.55 acres of vacant land in Fall River to the city's Redevelopment Authority for a price of $1. The transferred land will be used for residential, commercial, and other economic development projects under an existing urban renewal plan. Any money earned from selling or leasing this land must be placed into the state's Transportation Trust Fund, with at least $10 million specifically designated to help fund a new parking garage and maintenance of local paths and sidewalks. The law also requires independent appraisals of future land sales to be reviewed by state officials and includes a clause that the land will return to the state if it is not developed.
