An Act relative to access to local journalism

This bill requires entities in Massachusetts that must publish legal notices in newspapers to also post those notices on a statewide website and, for municipalities, on a local community news website. The law mandates that these online postings be free to access, searchable, and compliant with federal accessibility standards without requiring users to register or pay a subscription fee. Additionally, the bill ensures that if a newspaper lacks its own website, the statewide repository will satisfy the online publication requirement, and it clarifies that temporary website errors do not invalidate the legal notice if the print version is correct.
