An Act providing for the appointment of a treasurer-collector in the town of Kingston

This bill creates a new combined Treasurer-Collector office for the Town of Kingston, replacing the current elected positions for Treasurer and Collector. The new role will be appointed by the Town Administrator rather than elected by voters, serving a term of up to three years with the ability to be removed by the administrator. While the elected officials currently holding these posts will finish their existing terms, the town will transition to an appointed system once those terms expire. The appointed Treasurer-Collector will have the same powers and responsibilities as the separate elected offices currently exist.
