An Act establishing attainable housing and Chatham elementary school special revenue accounts for the town of Chatham

This bill directs the town of Chatham to create two separate special funds to manage a portion of its room occupancy tax revenue. One fund is designated for developing attainable housing, while the other supports the administration and operation of the Chatham Elementary School. The legislation requires the town to deposit one percent of its annual room occupancy tax collections into each fund, with any interest earned also added to the respective accounts. Town meetings retain the authority to adjust how much money goes into these funds or to end them entirely, at which point remaining balances would move to the town's general fund. Additionally, the town treasurer must publish an annual report detailing the financial activity of both funds for public review.
