An Act to improve health care workforce development through graduate nursing practice

This bill allows recent graduates and senior nursing students to practice nursing under direct supervision while completing their education or shortly after graduating. To qualify, these individuals must be employed by or working under the direction of a licensed healthcare facility or provider, which must verify their student or graduate status. The law applies to both registered and practical nursing programs approved by the state board. This change aims to expand the healthcare workforce by enabling new nurses to gain practical experience earlier in their careers.
