An Act providing for recall elections in the town of Conway

This bill authorizes the town of Conway, Massachusetts, to hold recall elections for any holder of an elective town office. The process begins when at least 50 registered voters submit an affidavit requesting the recall, which must then be verified by the board of registrars. If verified, the town clerk distributes petition sheets to ten signers who must gather additional signatures from at least 10 percent of the town's registered voters within 30 days. Once the petition is certified, the Selectboard orders an election where voters decide whether to recall the official and, if so, choose a successor from nominated candidates. The current officeholder continues their duties until the election concludes, after which they either remain in office or are immediately removed if the recall passes.
