An Act relative to farmer-distilleries

This bill expands regulations for farmer-distilleries in Massachusetts by allowing them to sell their products directly to consumers at licensed agricultural events and through a new direct shipping license. It permits distilleries to issue special licenses for selling sealed containers of their spirits at certified outdoor or indoor farm events, provided sales are handled by staff to customers over 21. Additionally, the law creates a new "direct distilled products shipper" license that enables distilleries to ship up to 12 cases of their products directly to residents for personal use, similar to existing rules for wineries. These changes aim to support local producers by creating additional legal pathways for them to sell their goods outside of traditional on-site retail settings.
