Maryland Transportation Authority - Lane Use Control Signal Monitoring Systems
What changed between versions
Section 21-1404.1(B) was changed from applying only to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to applying to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge AND any Authority highway, significantly expanding where these monitoring systems can be deployed.
The bill title changed from 'Lane Direction Control Signal Monitoring Systems' to 'Lane Use Control Signal Monitoring Systems' to reflect the terminology update.
A new subsection (c) was added to Section 21-1401 defining 'Authority highway' as each highway, tunnel, and bridge within the jurisdiction of the Maryland Transportation Authority, plus each approach to those facilities.
The term 'lane direction control signal monitoring system' was renamed to 'lane use control signal monitoring system' throughout the entire bill, including all statutory references.
The person who must sign the certification on citations and court certificates was broadened from a Maryland Transportation Authority police officer to a police officer representative or contractor, in both subsections (E)(1)(VIII) and (F)(1).
