Frederick County - Gaming - Acceptance of Credit as Payment

This bill would allow Frederick County volunteer fire, rescue, and ambulance organizations (including their auxiliaries) to accept credit cards as payment for gaming events they host to raise funds. Currently, state law prohibits these groups from accepting credit for gaming devices at such events, but this bill removes that restriction. It amends specific sections of Maryland's Criminal Law to update the rules governing credit acceptance during authorized fundraising gaming events. The change would take effect on July 1, 2025.
