LABOR: Requests a study on the financial and workforce impact of the closure of the Shreveport General Motors' truck plant facility and the economical impact that the automobile manufacturing industry has on this state

HCR 57 establishes a task force to study the financial and workforce impacts of the General Motors' truck plant closure in Shreveport. This task force will also examine the broader economic impact of the automobile manufacturing industry on Louisiana. Composed of representatives from state agencies and various business and labor organizations, the task force is tasked with researching these issues. Its purpose is to develop findings and recommendations for the legislature on how the state can attract and maintain automobile manufacturing facilities, with a report due by December 31, 2025.
