AN ACT relating to education.

HB 526 amends Kentucky law to update language in a teacher computer program to be gender-neutral. It revises KRS 156.690 from referring to "his or her" to gender-neutral terms when describing the Kentucky Board of Education's program to help certified teachers purchase computers. The program would still involve the state procuring computers at low cost through competitive bidding and arranging vendor training. This bill does not change the program's substance or benefits - it only updates the wording to be inclusive. The bill is currently pending in the House Committee on Primary and Secondary Education.
