Reordered and renumbered definitions of educational terms including accelerated learning, advanced coursework, constructed-response items, criterion-referenced tests, end-of-course examinations, formative assessments, interim assessments, summative assessments, and writing.

Added requirement for Kentucky Department of Education to implement a six-year review process for academic standards and assessments starting fiscal year 2017-2018.

Added specific criteria for standard revisions including focus on global economy needs, fewer but more in-depth standards, clear communication, evidence-based research, international benchmarks, and alignment across education levels.

Added requirement to establish four standards and assessments review committees with specific composition requirements including teachers and higher education representatives.

Added requirement to establish twelve advisory panels (three for each review committee) with specific grade level assignments and composition requirements.
