This bill amends Iowa's urban renewal and revitalization laws to address properties used for gaming. It prohibits urban renewal plans from including projects or areas where a gaming licensee (under Chapter 99F) operates, starting January 1, 2025. Additionally, it requires that any assessment agreement for such gaming properties must value the land and improvements at no less than the project cost submitted to the gaming commission during license approval. These changes exclude gaming properties from tax increment financing under urban renewal programs, effective for taxes due in fiscal years beginning July 1, 2025.
