School Districts, Threat Assessment Teams and Information Sharing (1444XD) - Public Safety, Department of

This bill requires school districts, nonpublic schools, charter schools, and innovation zone schools to establish multidisciplinary threat assessment teams to address student behavior posing safety risks. It allows these schools and other covered entities - including law enforcement, mental health services, local governments, and state agencies - to share relevant information about students experiencing emotional disturbances, mental illness, or posing safety threats. Covered entities are defined broadly to include all schools, government agencies, and contracted service providers working with K-12 students. The bill also provides legal immunity for individuals reporting or investigating safety threats in good faith.
