OPEN MEETINGS-TRAINING

Amends the Open Meetings Act. Provides that an elected or appointed member of a public body of a municipality may satisfy the training requirements under the Open Meetings Act by participating in a course of training sponsored or conducted by an organization that represents municipalities as designated under a specified Section of the Illinois Municipal Code. Provides content requirements for the training. Provides that if an organization representing municipalities provides training, it must provide a certificate of course completion to each elected or appointed member of a public body who successfully completes that course of training. House Floor Amendment No. 1 Deletes reference to: 5 ILCS 120/1.05 Adds reference to: 20 ILCS 2805/38 Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Department of Veterans' Affairs Act. Provides that the Veterans' Service-Related Ailments Task Force shall meet at least once every 2 months beginning January 1, 2020 (rather than beginning July 1, 2019). Effective immediately.
