EDUCATION – Amends existing law to provide for reimbursement for parents or legal guardians for costs related to self-directed learner students.

This Idaho bill creates a "self-directed learner" program for public school students in grades 5 and above who meet specific academic and goal-setting criteria, such as demonstrating math mastery or developing postsecondary career plans. Parents or legal guardians of these students can request reimbursement from their school district for expenses directly tied to the student's flexible learning arrangement (like virtual learning tools or approved educational programs) and ongoing eligibility requirements. Reimbursement is capped at 65% of the district's per-student public school funding for that student. Schools must establish policies for processing these reimbursement requests.
