PUBLIC NOTICES – Amends and adds to existing law to provide for the electronic publication of public notices on the State Controller’s website and to revise provisions regarding publication by first class mail.

Idaho's H 33 bill allows governmental entities (like cities, counties, and school districts) to publish certain public notices digitally on the State Controller's website instead of in print newspapers. Notices published electronically must meet the same timing and duration requirements as print notices and have identical legal standing. The State Controller must ensure free public access to these digital notices by 2027, including a subscription feature for meeting alerts, while maintaining existing mailing requirements for notices that must be mailed. The bill does not replace newspaper publication for all notices or eliminate mailing obligations.
