MODERATE
This bill updates the legislative metadata to reflect a new version (SD2) and changes the effective date of the pesticide buffer zone law from January 1, 2027, to July 1, 2050. It also expands the list of exemptions to include pesticides used for treating structural insulation and invasive species control by state departments.
Scope change
The bill's applicability timeline was significantly delayed, and the scope of exemptions was broadened to cover structural insulation and specific invasive species control activities.
TIMELINE
The effective date for the pesticide buffer zone restrictions was changed from January 1, 2027, to July 1, 2050, delaying the implementation of the one-half mile school and park safety zone.

New exemptions were added allowing the use of pesticides for treating and preserving structural insulation, which were not explicitly listed in the previous version.
Exemptions were expanded to include invasive species control conducted by the Department of Land and Natural Resources and its agents when responding to biosecurity threats.
