MINOR
The bill was updated from the first session (SD1) to the second session (SD2), changing the sponsor from Noah Holck to Adam Weiss. The most significant policy change is the effective date of the Act, which was moved from January 1, 2027, to July 1, 2050. This delay impacts when the new requirements for electronic motor vehicle title signatures, which require a notary, become enforceable.
Scope change
The bill's scope regarding electronic title signatures remains the same, but the timeline for enforcement has been extended by several years.
TIMELINE
The effective date for the Act was changed from January 1, 2027, to July 1, 2050, delaying the implementation of new notary requirements for electronic signatures on motor vehicle titles.
