RELATING TO TRAFFIC SAFETY.

All text prohibiting passengers under 18 from riding in the bed of pickup trucks on highways with speed limits of 46 mph or higher or three or more lanes was deleted.

The specific fine amounts ($25 and $50) for violating the pickup truck passenger restrictions were removed.

The effective date of the Act was changed from July 1, 3000, to January 1, 2027.

The bill description was updated to remove references to pickup truck passenger restrictions and only describe the 'move over' safety requirement.

Expanded the 'move over' law to require drivers to slow down and change lanes for any stationary vehicle in any location on the roadway, shoulder, or roadside, removing the previous limitation to only shoulder stops.

Added a prohibition against operating pickup trucks with passengers under 18 years of age in the bed or load-carrying area on roadways with posted speed limits of 46 mph or higher or three or more lanes.

Created specific exemptions for the new pickup truck passenger restriction, including public service businesses, agricultural transport, emergency vehicles, and military vehicles.

Changed the effective date of the Act from January 1, 2027, to July 1, 3000.
