MINOR
This bill expands the criteria for when Hawaiian language versions of laws are considered binding. Previously, only laws originally drafted in Hawaiian were protected, but now laws originally drafted in English that were later amended, codified, recodified, or reenacted in Hawaiian also receive this protection.
Scope change
The bill's scope was expanded to include laws that were originally in English but later translated into Hawaiian, whereas before only laws originally drafted in Hawaiian were covered.
ELIGIBILITY

Expanded eligibility to include laws originally drafted in English that were subsequently amended, codified, recodified, or reenacted in Hawaiian, in addition to laws originally drafted in Hawaiian.

REQUIREMENT

Updated the binding language requirements in Section 1-13 to reflect the expanded eligibility criteria for when Hawaiian versions of laws take precedence over English versions.

TECHNICAL

Changed the bill designation from S.D. 1 to S.D. 2 and updated the description text to reflect the expanded scope.
