Informing the Legislature that on July 7, 2025, the Governor signed the following bill into law: HB1462 HD1 SD1 CD1 (ACT 300).

This bill (HB 1462, now Act 300) expands Hawaii's crisis intervention program by establishing two new crisis services sites on Oahu. It directly affects homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness with mental health or substance use issues, connecting them to health services instead of the criminal justice system. The law requires one site to serve areas with high concentrations of people facing these challenges, and mandates collaboration between the Department of Health, law enforcement, courts, and community providers.
