Informing the Legislature that on May 19, 2025, the Governor signed the following bill into law: SB102 SD2 HD2 CD1 (ACT 077).

SB102 requires third-party reservation platforms (like online booking services) to obtain a restaurant's written consent before listing or promoting its reservations. It prohibits these platforms from advertising, selling, or facilitating reservations without explicit permission from the restaurant, aiming to prevent misleading practices that harm both businesses and consumers. Restaurants or customers affected by unauthorized listings can sue for court orders to stop violations, capped damages (not exceeding fees collected by the third party), and attorney fees. The law applies broadly to all Hawaii restaurants, including dine-in spots, food carts, and food trucks.
