"Georgia Human Trafficking Prevention Training Act"; enact

Third-party property managers are now explicitly required to receive annual human trafficking awareness training.

The definition of 'short-term rental property' was changed to include units managed by a third-party property manager, and new definitions for 'third-party property manager' and 'office' (Attorney General) were added.

The entity responsible for developing the training curriculum was changed from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to the Office of the Attorney General, who must consult with the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council and hosting platforms.

The specific requirement for short-term rental operators to comply with posting requirements in Code Section 16-5-47 was removed from the list of duties for short-term rental operators, though it remains for inn owners.

The requirement to report suspected trafficking was simplified to include only the National Human Trafficking Hotline or local law enforcement, removing the specific state hotline number. Additionally, local law enforcement and police departments are now explicitly tasked with assisting in enforcing posting requirements.

The entity responsible for developing human trafficking training was changed from just the 'Georgia Hotel and Lodging Association' to include 'representatives of short-term rental hosting platforms'.

The definition of 'Human trafficking awareness training' was updated to reflect the inclusion of short-term rental platform representatives in the development process.
