Town of Davie, Broward County

Maddy summaryHB 4075 permits signs on specific agricultural properties owned by the Town of Davie in Broward County, creating an exception to Florida's general sign regulations (s. 479.024). It applies only to the exact parcels described in the bill (including Blackstone Creek and referenced tract portions), requiring compliance with all other sign laws. The bill does not affect other properties or zoning in Davie. This is a limited local exception for the Town of Davie’s agricultural land, with no broader policy impact.

Central Broward Water Control District, Broward County

Maddy summaryHB 4069 revises the tax authority for the Central Broward Water Control District, allowing it to levy taxes only on land (not improvements) up to 5 mills per $1,000 of taxable property value. The bill sets a maximum tax rate at 5 mills annually unless the board of commissioners votes to reduce it, and requires taxes to be collected through Broward County's existing property tax system. This directly affects property owners within the district's boundaries by establishing a clear cap on potential tax increases. The changes update the district's tax procedures without altering who pays taxes or creating new revenue sources.
