Medicaid Providers
What changed between versions
Added a new requirement that at least 50% of primary care providers in a plan's network must offer appointment availability outside regular business hours (Monday-Friday 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. and all day Saturday and Sunday).
Modified the data sharing requirements between managed care plans and the Department of Children and Families to include compliance monitoring for access to medical, dental, and behavioral health services, medication use, and follow-up on recommended services.
Removed detailed provisions about enrollees receiving care from non-contracted providers when unable to access timely care, as these requirements appear to have been consolidated or modified in the committee substitute version.
Added a specific definition for 'outside regular business hours' to clarify when providers must be available for Medicaid enrollees.
Changed the effective date from unspecified in the original version to July 1, 2025.
