Cardiac and Medical Emergencies on School Grounds; Citing this act as the “HeartCharged Act”; requiring each public school to have at least one automated external defibrillator on school grounds; encouraging each charter school and private school to have at least one defibrillator on school grounds and to comply with specified requirements; providing immunity from liability for school employees and students under the Good Samaritan Act and the Cardiac Arrest Survival Act; requiring the Commissioner of Education, at his or her sole discretion, to create and disseminate specified protocols and plans relating to the use of defibrillators in schools, etc.
