AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE CONNECTICUT-GERMANY AND CONNECTICUT-INDIA TRADE COMMISSIONS.

Added two new members appointed by the minority leader of the Senate and the minority leader of the House of Representatives.

Added two new members appointed by the chairpersons of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce.

Added a new provision allowing any additional members as deemed necessary by the chairpersons of the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce.

Changed the administrative staff of the commission from the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to commerce to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to consumer protection.

Changed the commission's meeting frequency from 'as often as deemed necessary' to a mandatory quarterly schedule.

Extended the initial appointment term expiration for members appointed by the Speaker, President Pro Tempore, and Senate/Majority/Minority Leaders to September 30, 2030, and clarified that members appointed by the joint commerce committee chairpersons may serve until their appointing authority's term ends.

Extended the initial appointment term expiration for Governor, House Majority/Minority Leaders, and Senate Majority/Minority Leaders to September 30, 2029 and 2030 respectively, and clarified term lengths for joint committee appointees.
