Expanded the definition of protected 'teacher' and 'other employee' to explicitly include student teachers and university health center staff.

Added a requirement that employees must continue to pay their share of health insurance premiums while on paid leave due to assault-related injuries.

Modified the civil action process for recovering damages to require the employee to provide written notice to the employer before filing suit.

Added a new provision allowing health care facilities to sue patients who commit assaults to recover medical and wage expenses.
