SB 972 Connecticut Senate · 2025 Regular Session

AN ACT CONCERNING CANCELLATION OF TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES.

SB 972 allows consumers to cancel any telecommunications service at any time during their billing cycle. If a consumer cancels, telecom companies must stop charging for service after the cancellation date and provide a partial refund for any prepaid service not delivered. This applies to all telecom providers and directly affects customers who switch or discontinue services mid-cycle. The bill requires companies to adjust billing immediately upon cancellation without penalty. It does not change service terms for ongoing subscriptions.
