AN ACT CONCERNING UNLAWFUL DISSEMINATION OF AN INTIMATE SYNTHETICALLY CREATED IMAGE.
What changed between versions
Changed the title and subject matter from 'unauthorized dissemination of intimate images that are digitally altered or created through the use of artificial intelligence' to 'unlawful dissemination of an intimate synthetically created image'
Added two new requirements: the disseminator must know the image is synthetically created and intend to deceive the viewer, and the victim must suffer harm as a result
Added a new provision that makes it a felony if the person who acquired, created, or had created the image did so with the intention to harm the victim
Replaced the definition of 'artificial intelligence' with a new definition for 'synthetically created image' that specifies images not wholly recorded by a camera or generated by a computer system
Adjusted penalty classifications based on whether subdivision (5) of the new requirements was violated, with potential felony charges for intentional harm
