Replaced the requirement to pass a State Board of Education approved assessment with a new requirement that the Connecticut Educator Preparation and Certification Board must approve minimum content knowledge requirements by July 1, 2025.
Added new pathways for demonstrating content knowledge including evidence-based assessments, residency programs, and apprenticeship programs under supervision of accredited educator preparation programs.
Added requirement that the Connecticut Educator Preparation and Certification Board must review and update minimum content knowledge requirements at least biennially.
Updated effective dates for various certification provisions from 2011, 2018, and 2024 to July 1, 2025, with some dates retaining original years in brackets for reference.
Reorganized statute numbering and section structure, changing from section 10-145b and 10-145l to a renumbered system with different subsection numbering.
