AN ACT ASSISTING SCHOOL DISTRICTS IN IMPROVING EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES, IMPLEMENTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND THE TECHNICAL EDUCATION AND CAREER SYSTEM AND ESTABLISHING EARLY START CT.

This bill creates a new Office of Dyslexia and Reading Disabilities within the state Department of Education to ensure teacher training programs and new educators are qualified in scientifically-based reading instruction. It also establishes a Center for Literacy Research and Reading Success to oversee statewide reading plans, provide coaching to schools, and report on how districts implement reading curricula.
