TO RECOGNIZE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17, 2025, AS DAISY GATSON BATES DAY, AND TO HONOR DAISY GATSON BATES FOR HER CONTRIBUTIONS TO ARKANSAS, THE NATION, AND THE WORLD, NOW MEMORIALIZED IN THE DISPLAY OF HER STATUE IN THE UNITED STATES CAPITOL.

This House Resolution designates Monday, February 17, 2025, as "Daisy Gatson Bates Day" in Arkansas, coinciding with President's Day. It honors Daisy Gatson Bates, a civil rights leader who mentored the Little Rock Nine during school desegregation in 1957 and later had her statue installed in the U.S. Capitol's National Statuary Hall Collection.
