school district governing boards; training
What changed between versions
Changed the training frequency from 'at least once in every two-year period' to 'not later than forty-five days after the first day of a school district governing board member's term of office' for new members, and added an annual reporting cycle.
Added a transitional provision (Section 4) requiring existing board members to complete the new annual training and reporting within one year of the act's effective date.
Updated the reporting deadline cycle from 'every second year thereafter' to 'each year thereafter' for notifying the county school superintendent and submitting reports to the state board of education.
Clarified that ineligibility for future nomination, election, or appointment applies to any member who fails to comply with both the training requirements (Subsection A) and the reporting requirements (Subsection C).
