An Act relating to inactive state accounts and funds; repealing the public access fund; repealing the Alaska temporary assistance program emergency account; repealing the 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games reserve fund; and providing for an effective date.
What changed between versions
The bill now repeals many more state accounts and funds, adding: home ownership assistance fund, operating loss reserve account, Southeast energy fund, Alaska Gasline Inducement Act reimbursement fund, child care facility revolving loan fund foreclosure expense account, tourism revolving fund foreclosure expense account, residential energy conservation fund foreclosure expense account, and historical district revolving loan fund foreclosure expense account. Previously only the public access fund, Alaska temporary assistance program emergency account, and 2001 Special Olympics World Winter Games reserve fund were targeted.
Section 1 now repeals a much broader list of statutory sections: AS 18.56.430, 18.56.450; AS 38.05.874; AS 42.45.040; AS 43.90.400; AS 44.33.242; AS 45.81.110; AS 45.88.110; AS 45.98.015; and AS 47.27.075, compared to only AS 38.05.874 and AS 47.27.075 in the prior version.
The effective date was changed from July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2025, moving it approximately one year earlier.
