Veteran license tags; certain veterans exposed to radiation added to those who may receive distinctive tag

HB 604 expands the eligibility for distinctive motor vehicle license tags for veterans. Currently, only veterans exposed to radiation from atomic bomb and weapon testing between 1944 and 1962 are eligible for this tag. This bill would include additional categories of veterans who were exposed to dangerous levels of radiation, such as those who directly participated in atomic weapon detonation or cleanup, or were exposed to ionizing radiation from operational use of atomic weapons during World War II. This allows more veterans who experienced radiation exposure during their service to receive a distinctive license plate.
