Alcoholic Beverages Control Board; ability to own its warehouses authorized

This bill authorizes the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board to own the real estate where its warehouses are located. Currently, the board lacks the legal authority to hold property in its own name, so this change allows it to purchase or receive warehouses through standard means like buying or gifts. The law specifically permits the board to acquire and operate these facilities solely for storing and distributing alcoholic beverages. Once enacted, the board can legally hold the title to the land and buildings it uses for these operations starting June 1, 2024.
